Seeing is Believing - Bill List for Matawan

Click on Bill List

This is being done by the same Councilman who previously was to sponsor a resolution against PAY TO PLAY. Guess the money was too good to pass up.

JUST SAY NO to elected officials who perform work for the Borough and then vote to pay themselves! We are surprised to see no one really cares about unethical shenanigans in the Borough. Therefore, we decided to post a previous Bill List wherein Councilman Kevin Mendes family business did work for the Borough and the Councilman voted yes on payment of the Bill List. This bill is for 4/18/08 in the amount of $468.00, followed by another bill for $202.80 on 5/16/08. So far Councilman Mullaney has only submitted one bill in February 2008 for $452.50 and of course it was paid. Based on a reply to a resident at a recent Council Meeting, he gave the impression that Mullaney Tires has continued to do work, just hasn't gotten around to billing the Borough.

Councilman Gives Courier a Tour of Police Department

The buzz in Matawan is Councilman Kevin Mendes gave a tour of the Matawan Police Department building today. Wonder who could it be...let's see who supposedly is the Matawan Democrats' weekly publication....uh, uh, uh, we got it..... we got it....none other than Alyssa P., (apologies if we spelled her name incorrectly)the Courier reporter.

What could possibly be the reason, were photos taken, will the reason for this tour be in the Courier prior to the Council meeting next week????

We will all just have to wait and see.....

Are You Kidding Me Category at Council Meeting 12/18/07

Entrance to American Properties 11/07 Democratic Political Endorsement signs for Aufseeser. Mendes & Bunyon outside American Properties Route 79 Project Site.

Resolution 07-12-13 Authorizing the Mayor of Matawan to Execute the Developers agreement between Matawan and American Properties to Effectuate the Unified Planning Board Approvals Granted to the Developer. This resolution passed by the Democrats including newly appointed Councilman Robert Bunyon, excluding Councilman Mullaney who abstained. Isn't this a conflict of interest for all Democrats on the Council. If the Developer endorses only one Political party, does that mean that those same candidates, when they get elected or appointed, get to vote on resolutions brought before the Borough Council. The very same candidates/appointees sit on the Unified Planning & Zoning Board. How are the best interests of Matawan served? Sure Aufseeser, Bunyon & Mendes can be objective? Are you kidding me?

Democratic Slate for Matawan

WELCOME TO MATAWAN
Posted by Picasa
Under the present administration this is how our Historic Train Station looks.
The petitions are in and Matawan Borough will soon be embroiled in a pivotal election. Here are the candidates:

Democratic Party
Mary Aufseeser for Mayor
Robert Bunyon for Councilman
Kevin Mendes for Councilman

Based on the following information, how will you vote?

Mary Aufseeser, presently the Mayor under whose administration we have seen an increase in the municipal budget of $1,319,682., from 2006 to 2007. Mayor Aufseeser in a letter to residents of Union Street stated, “My goal has been to stabilize taxes to the greatest extent possible.” Doesn’t sound like a stabilization program to me! Therefore, Mayor Aufseeser has failed in her efforts to stabilize taxes. Overall a lackluster performance record.

Mayor Aufseeser is unresponsive to Matawan residents. We could cite many examples, however, due to limited space, just come to a Borough Council Meeting and see for yourself. Actually, see is what you will observe, as the Mayor does not respond to questions very often, the Borough Attorney speaks in her place. We long for the days when our elected officials responded to our questions. Ah yes, those were the days of Mayor Rob Clifton!

Robert Bunyon, now there is a name that conjures up memories of the “ghost candidate.”
Now we ask, Mr. Bunyon, are you really, really sure, you want to run. On the other hand, will this be another ploy to get an ineligible candidate to slide on to the ballot? It is difficult to trust someone who cannot make up his or her mind.

Kevin Mendes, we will need to reserve opinions on Mr. Mendes until we have all the facts. He lives in Matawan. He serves on the Planning & Zoning Board. Mr. Mendes also works for Key Auto Body. Does this mean Re-development is dead at the Train Station?
