Matawan Train Station

The Matawan Train Station receives a new coat of paint. The workers started priming the historical building today. Can't wait to see the end result.
It will be great to see the old Train Station brought back to its former glory.

I am THRILLED to see this building get a facelift...I was worried for so long that it was just going to sit and sit until there was no choice but to take it down.I feared it would suffer the same fate as the Broad Street High School.

Now I have a question: Is this a full-scale renovation and restoration? Meaning interior/exterior, reconstruction of the canopy, reconstruction of gingerbread detailing, so on and so forth? Or are they just gunna make it look pretty and let it fall into disrepair again?

Maybe you don't know any more than I do, but if you have any info, please enlighten me. :)

I'd like to see this building turned into a restaurant or something of the sort.

The Matawan Historical Society along with Councilwoman Clifton have been meeting with NJ Transit. The Historical Society is to advise of color choices.

We would love to see a living museum.

We are also happy to see work being done on the Train Station.
